EFWFW2016: Milin 'Heroine'

    “I am not a woman, but the world”, this motto emphasizes women truly rule the world. Milin Fall/Winter 2016 collection ‘Heroine’ wanted to present that women are strong and powerful. “Women are not only the gender created the world, but also come with the power and ability to change things around with feminine charm and elegant look.”, was described in this collection. Milin paid a tribute and celebrated the era of all strong women. Opening the show with a dazzling star, Poyd Treechada and a legendary song ‘We Will Rock You’ by Queen, it totally heated up. The key DNAs of Milin — Elegant, Sensual, and Rebellious, were still in the collection. Her inspiration was transmitted to silhouettes and technics. To accentuate the strength, her team used swords, chains,and barbwires as patterns on clothes. Meanwhile, laser cut acrylic flowers implied to the gentleness of women. The new technics that Milin had never used before, metallic coated laces, was what I love most. I love its shine and sweetness coming along with sexy silhouettes like cropped tops and mini skirts. There were burn-out velvet and pleat included. Being a fall winter collection, aside from metallic pink, purple, and copper, it had the combination of darker shades from black, mustard yellow, burgundy to dark green. The last six gowns were literally spectacular. The shiny metallic gray one with the double high slit skirts and the white metallic sheer gown with white ruffle embellishment were my favs. The songs from one of the modern feminist icons, Beyoncé featured in the show, for instance, Diva and Survivor (Destiny’s Child). I have to say this collection is quite different from a couple of her previous collections. It was stronger, more fierce, and more mature. ‘Heroine’ graciously represented the new era of women to become more powerful than ever!
